The Fulfillment of God's
2 Samuel 7:8-9 and 11b-16 "Now therefore, thus
shall you say to My servant David, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "I
took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over
My people, over Israel. "And I have been with you wherever you have
gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made
you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth.
Also the LORD tells you that He will make you a house. "When your
days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your
seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his
kingdom. "He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish
the throne of his kingdom forever. "I will be his Father, and he
shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod
of men and with the blows of the sons of men. "But My mercy shall
not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before
you. "And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever
before you. Your throne shall be established forever."' "
Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little
among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The
One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting."
these Scripture verses, we see that God prophesied great things through
the family of David. This is one of many prophecies which foretells the
birth of Jesus. God proclaims that, a great king will arise from this
family who will live forever and will set up an eternal kingdom. This
prophecy is found again in different places in the Bible; other prophets
from different periods of time have confirmed the prophecy. Several hundred
years later, God chose Mary, who descended from the family of David, for
the birth of Jesus, so that the prophecy would be fulfilled. Jesus Christ
came on this earth to redeem us from the power of sin, and is God manifested
in the flesh. 1. John 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God,
but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our
God's plan was fulfilled and will always be fulfilled again and again.
If you have not already done so, then thank Jesus for this plan and let
him know that you would like to be a part in the eternal kingdom of God.
He still has room for you! jk
